With Thanksgiving just a few days away, holiday preparations have surely begun. You may be thinking about the menu, table arrangements and spending time with your loved ones. But, Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 wants to help you add a little safety prep to your planning.

As colder weather starts to set in, Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 would like to encourage residents to practice space heater safety and know the potential risks associated with home heating equipment. Home fires occur more in the winter months than any other time of year.

As summer temperatures remain high through August, so does the risk of heat-related illness. While temperatures remain in the 90s offering little relief for locals, it is vital to know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke so that you can respond quickly in an emergency.

LPFPD4 will be conducting OpenSafely courtesy visits to businesses within our district over the next several weeks.

The Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 4 (LPFPD4) hosted its third annual hurricane preparedness seminar for emergency response personnel on Wednesday, May 23 at the Walker Baptist Church.

Our hearts are heavy from last week’s loss of one of our own.  Donald Dedon, former LPFPD4 Fire Chief and Board Member, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the age of 72.
